PROFICIENCY AND ADVANCED COURSES
Flight Review - You know them as “BFRs.” By regulation, a flight review is required every two years. Do not let this mandate intimidate you. It is a marvelous opportunity to learn. Make it fun by combining it with an aircraft checkout, hood work, or night recurrency, or cross country training. We can tailor reviews around your particular interests. Call today!

Instrument Proficiency Check - Nothing is as useless as an out-of-proficiency instrument rating. Now is the time to bring your abilities back to form. Combining exercises between aircraft proficiency flights and the ATC 710 Flight Training Device, our CFIIs will soon have you eager for IFR conditions.

High Performance Aircraft Transition and Endorsement Training - Is there a need for speed in your puddle-jumper world? Sample life above 200-horsepower! Whether you wish an introduction into sophisticated aircraft operations, or require complete training towards the High Performance endorsement, Paragon's instructors can teach you to handle life in the fast lane.

Complex Aircraft Transition and Endorsement Training - Low and slow is nice... but so is higher, farther, faster. To do so, you'll need to suck up the tires and twist the prop. “Complex” aircraft have retractable landing gear, controllable pitch propellers, and flaps. To command such aircraft pilots need specific training and a logbook endorsement. It is critical that your introduction to these challenging machines is guided by a patient, talented instructor. Turn to Paragon for all your complex training needs.

Stall / Spin Awareness & Avoidance - There is nothing like stall/spin training to build confidence, understanding, proficiency, and safety. This is a practical overall review of aerodynamics, stalls, and unusual attitude recovery. For CFI applicants this course can be tailored to meet the endorsement requirements for teaching spin training.

Emergency Procedures Review - Has it been a while since you practiced power-off glides? Perhaps you’re not comfortable reviewing these tasks. Let Paragon wring you out with a multitude of simulated abnormalities. Have fun while refreshing these rusty skills.

Night Recurrency - Did you know FARs now require student pilots to fly an actual dual night cross country? Are you up to that challenge? Maybe it's been years since your last night flight. Maybe you've never been comfortable with the minimal training you received. Whatever the excuse, don't let the dark ground you! Check out our idea of night life.

Mountain Flying Training - Rocks to the left, trees to the right, and watch out for the eagle soaring overhead, while picking your way through an alpine pass. Majestic peaks - microclimates - turbulence - winds - density altitude - flying doesn't get any better than this! Mountain flying comes in many degrees, from the mundane to the intense. Isn't it time you get up-close and personal with the splendor of Montana. Several courses available to suit your specific needs.

Cross-Wind / Strong Wind Tune-Up - When the wind blows strong, go fly a kite -- common' down to the field! If you like challenge and demanding flying, you'll love a tune-up on cross wind and turbulent operations. Better than white water rafting and extreme skiing! Call today to be put on the contact list next time the winds pick up.

Introducing Instrument Flying For VFR Pilots - FARs now require student pilots to receive three hours of instrument instruction before the check ride. If you can’t remember when you last flew under the hood, perhaps you’re ready for a detailed review. This course takes the pilot past basic maneuvers to include an explanation of IFR traffic flows and the fundamentals of instrument approaches. Practical knowledge for today’s ATC-intensive environment!

Radio Navigation Review - VOR, ADF, LORAN, GPS - Are you getting the most out of equipment and the navigation systems available today? Enhance safety, improve efficiency, and ease your cross-country workload. We can design a tune-up in your aircraft or ours to meet your particular flying needs.

Familiarization Training For Non-Pilot Passengers. Knowledge breeds comfort; comfort makes for pleasant travels. If you're a non-pilot who regularly flies with a partner, perhaps you're ready to learn a bit about aircraft operations. Whether your motivation is safety, to assist the pilot with simple tasks, or your own curiosity, let Pargon introduce you to the basics of navigation, radio usage, and aircraft control. Offered either as ground school only or with in-flight training, your aircraft or ours, we can take the neophyte through the steps of navigating to an airport and control of the aircraft through to landing.
