Well said

“Why the vitriolic news reports and editorial comments about the public service of Representatives Roger Koopman and John Sinrud? Both have chosen not to seek re-election. Certainly the vile description of these two gentlemen does not fit the selfless, freedom-loving statesmen with whom I served in the ‘07 Legislature. There must be something else behind these attacks. There is.

Big government is the church of liberalism. To the socialist left, all happiness and success descends from government so anything that expands its size is good; anything that reduces it is evil. Thus Roger and John became the anti-Christ to the fanatics demanding bigger government. In the 60th Montana Legislature the fanatics won.

The positions taken by Reps. Koopman and Sinrud would put no additional money in their pockets; their cause was bigger than that. They served and sacrificed to keep Montana free, and now they are attacked with the same intensity as were the returning ‘baby-killer’ Vietnam veterans. Politics is truly a blood sport.

Ronald Regan waned, ‘Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.’ Will our generation be the one?

Montanans who value liberty will sorely miss the service of Rep. Koopman and Rep. Sinrud. I know I will.”

— Which explains beautifully the big-government liberal fanatics who think that to grow aviation we need to bloat government, raise taxes, limit freedoms, and banish the public from controlling these fiefdoms.

Case in point: If public input is so important to Gallatin Field’s current Master Plan draft, why is the airport already taking steps – making purchases, letting bids – based on this unfinished, unapproved document? And if 6:30 pm is a perfectly logical time to engage the working public in the review of this draft, why are monthly board meetings held at 3:00 pm in the middle of a work day when damned few members of the public have a chance to observe and participate in the government process? And if the public offers wisdom to review and comment on this gargantuan Master Plan, why does Gallatin Airport Authority members and County Commissions fight to keep fresh ideas out of the Authority by reappointing and reappointing and reappointing seated board members?

Why? Must keep the small-government small-budget anti-Christs away from the process.
